Phoenicia Lodge No. 58
F. & A.M.
November 2004

ELECTION OF OFFICERS

The election of our Officers for 2005 will be held at the Stated Meeting on November 9th at 7:00 P.M. This meeting will be held at our new location within Paradise Valley Silver Trowel's temple located at 16027 N. 25th Street in Phoenix.

Your attendance is requested.

FROM THE EAST

Greetings Brethren,

The month of November is the time of elections for the leadership of our country and for the leadership of our Arizona lodges. It is your privilege and your duty to be a part of both if within the length of your cable-tow. Our Election will take place November 9th. It is hoped that you will be at this meeting to cast your vote and enjoy the fellowship.

After 44 years of meeting in Scottsdale, we conducted our first meeting at our new location. Paradise Valley Silver Trowel welcomed us with an official visit of their members to Phoenicia’s Lodge, thereby, virtually tripling the attendance of our normal meeting. It was a pleasure to accommodate the visiting brethren. Not to worry. We brought plenty of food.

It is the intent of Phoenicia Lodge #58 to work diligently, given this new opportunity, to increase our attendance and bring in new members.

My time as your Master is coming to a close. It has been a pleasure serving the Lodge and an honor being your Master. We have had an exciting year, and our Lodge remains as its own. This however is a two edged sword. Only through the support of all our membership can we derive new members, to create a better Lodge, and maintain the established landmarks of the order. You will be called upon for your support. Please give as much as you can.

Fraternally,

Don S. Methven, Worshipful Master

FROM THE WEST

Greetings Brethren,

This year is coming to a close and we are planning the work and activities for the ensuing year. The amount of time and effort given by any one of the participants in these plans, and the activities that will follow, will be negligible in comparison to the impact they will have on others. And really, isn’t that what it’s all about?

Our first scheduled activity will be a fund raiser driving electric carts and taking shoppers from the mall to their cars at Chandler Fashion Center and Superstition Springs Center. Drivers will work 4 hour shifts or longer in the afternoon and evenings beginning November 26th and running through Christmas Eve. Those of you interested in participating in this event and helping to strengthen our Lodge should contact any one of the Officers listed on the Trestleboard. This is what it’s all about!

Fraternally,

Randall Smith, Senior Warden

FROM THE SOUTH

Greetings Brethren,

The time has arrived for another Presidential Election. We as Masons need to do our part and cast our ballot on November 2, 2004. Encourage those we know, to do their civic duty and cast their ballot. Offer them a ride to the polling place. Remind them that the day has arrived to cast their vote.

The time has arrived for another Election of Officers for our Lodge. We as members of Phoenicia Lodge need to do our part and cast our ballots at November 9th's stated meeting. Encourage those who may not attend to do their Masonic Duty and vote. Offer them a ride to Lodge. Remind them that the day has arrived to go to Lodge and vote. Inform them of the great dinners we have before the meeting, the meticulous ritual at the meeting, and the Great Brotherhood we have here at Phoenicia.

Participate and remember the joy of accomplishment and the effect your work has on your brethren. It's as simple as a letter in the Trestleboard, being a part of a committee, or taking part in the ritual such as a part in the Third Degree. These are the Masonic experiences that are vital to keeping Masonry viable.

Fraternally,

Gregory S. Weisman, Junior Warden

The family picnic held by PVST #29 was one to be reckoned with. There was a ton of food and 155 people attended the festivities. After everyone had been fed, there was a drawing for door prizes. There must have been easily 50 gifts given away to the attendees. Oh, did I mention that is was a perfect day for a picnic. It was! Our thanks to Paradise Valley Silver Trowel #29 for sharing this event with us.
