TRESTLEBOARD Phoenicia Lodge No. 58 |
FROM THE EAST
Greetings Brethren,
As promised in last months Trestleboard, we did have some very important items to vote on at the September Stated Meeting. The first item on our agenda was weather or not to change the location of our meeting place. After the Relocation Committee had reported it’s findings to the attending membership, there was discussion and a vote. It was decided that Phoenicia, after 44 years, will change it’s meeting location to 16027 N. 25th Street in Phoenix which is the home of Paradise Valley Silver Trowel #29. This move took place on Saturday, October 2nd and the members of #29 were helpful in getting us moved in.
The second item voted on was for an amendment to our By-Laws so as to reflect our change of meeting location. The By-Laws changes will be discussed at our October 12, 2004 meeting.
Phoenicia is coming up out of the dust for a new start in a new location. The general feeling is that this will be a good and productive move for the Lodge. We are inviting the membership to be there to help us in making the transition.
I look forward to seeing you at the meeting.
Fraternally,
Don S. Methven, Worshipful Master
FROM THE WEST
Greetings Brethren,
Our first meeting at our new venue should be an auspicious occasion. We will have many visitors from other Lodges in attendance to celebrate this occasion. I look forward to seeing members from Phoenicia Lodge as well.
On October 24th, Paradise Valley Silver Trowel #29 will be having their Annual Family Picnic at Sahuaro Ranch Park, 9802 N. 59th Avenue in Glendale and we are all invited. This gathering will begin at 11:00 a.m. and the food (steaks, hamburgers, hot dogs, beans, potato salad, rolls, beverages, and dessert) will be served from Noon til 2:00 p.m. Bring the family. To sign up to attend this feast, contact myself, Greg Weisman, or Don Head.
Fraternally,
Randall Smith, Senior Warden
FROM THE SOUTH
Greetings from the South Brethren,
I would like to thank those of you who came out to support myself, Doc Evans, and Bill Franklin at the DeMolay Honors Night. Doc Evans and Bill Franklin both received their 60 years pins from DeMolay. Our Lodge has an exceptional group of active advisors for DeMolay in Arizona and we are very proud of all of them. The Scottsdale Chapter, Order of DeMolay is having a prospect party on October 17, 2004, at 5pm at the Scottsdale Masonic Center. If you know of anyone that might be interested in DeMolay bring them on down.
I would like to see our lodge look forward to the future as to having our own Masonic Center in the North Valley. I know it won't happen overnight and will take a lot of work to accomplish, but I believe we can get this done, down the road in the years to come. Our lodge means a lot to me and you are my family.
Some of you have been concerned about the cost of traveling the extra distance to Lodge. One member had said it's not a problem to get to the Lodge if it was downtown but it seems expensive to drive the extra 10 miles. It all becomes a state of mind. It would take, on average, an extra gallon of gas to get to PVST Lodge, which is about two dollars as of today. But if you car pool, you can save on this cost and share in some great fellowship on the way to and from the Lodge. And for those of you who cannot make a regular commitment to be at Lodge you can still help out by doing a part in a degree a couple of times a year or help in planning a school program, or something else where you have the time to give. We should all take as much of an active part as we can. We should all improve ourselves in Masonry and in life.
Fraternally,
Gregory S. Weisman, Junior Warden

The address is 16027 N. 25th Street. You can easily get to this Lodge via Interstate 51 which intersects Greenway or by way of Loop 101 to Cave Creek Rd. Thanks to Brother Bud Cochren, anyone in the Valley of the Sun can find a Lodge meeting throughout the week by calling for a recorded message, updated every Monday evening.
I have changed the way you will receive the Trestleboard. You will now receive an email with a link to a web site that contains the Trestleboard. This should help speed things up.
