FROM THE EAST

Greetings Brethren,

First let me thank the membership for allowing me the privilege of serving you as Master for 2005. We're off to a good start with a very nice installation and dinner and a very successful fund raiser.

This January was a little tough with the break down of the computer used to create the Trestle Board, which is why you didn't get a January issue. The activities for the coming months are being hammered out and put into place and our finances are looking better all the time.

Really, the only issue left to getting this Lodge back on track is membership. If there's a man out there that you know to be a good man, one looking to exercise his talents, don't be bashful about mentioning to him that you're a Mason and that Masons do good things. We need good men to keep the tradition of Masonry alive.

Many of you have already received a phone call from myself or one of my Wardens. We've enjoyed talking with you and want to know how you're doing. We are not looking to drag you back into Lodge kicking and screaming. We simply want to fulfill our commitment to our members as your Lodge. Those of you who have not heard from us yet, will. If you know of a member that has recently moved or changed their phone numbers, please let us know.

By the way, send your dues to our new mailing address at P.O. Box 30412, Phoenix, AZ 85046.

Fraternally,

Randall Smith, Worshipful Master

FROM THE WEST

Greetings Brethren,

How great it feels to be here! We have a great year planned with activities to keep all us busy. Your attendance in our activities is always a welcomed pleasure and any help in fulfilling our commitments as a Lodge only helps us grow stronger.

Then there's the matter of yearly dues. Dues. Wow, that's a touchy subject. Please understand that your dues help pay for a myriad of different things.

First of all, the Grand Lodge assesses each Lodge for every member it has as of the end of the year. We must pay for Grand Lodge training classes for our Officers and send them to the Annual Grand Lodge Communication. There is a donation to the building owner for the use of the Lodge and kitchen.

And then there're the operating costs. Offices supplies, stamps, replacing worn articles used in the Lodge, hosting dinners to honor the membership and the gifts presented to them, etc.

The majority of the expenses are covered however, through fund raising activities. In December, we had a successful fund raiser driving the golf carts at Chandler Fashion Mall. I would like to thank our Master, Randy Smith for all of the time he spent driving the carts and scheduling the brethren that participated, and getting us the opportunity to do this fund raiser with Paradise Valley Silver Trowel Lodge #29. And a thank you to PVST #29 for sharing in this fund raiser with us.

Also, if anyone living in the Valley would like to carpool to Lodge, please contact myself or any other Officer of the Lodge and the necessary arrangements can be made for you to attend a Lodge meeting or activity. Those of you outside the area, please visit a Lodge near you, because we are all Brothers and friends and we all like visitors who stop in and share the fellowship. That's brotherhood.

Fraternally,

Gregory S. Weisman, Senior Warden

FROM THE SOUTH

Greetings Brethren,

Happy New Years Brothers. 2005 is here giving us the opportunity to start fresh and do all of the things that slipped by us in 2004.

We managed to do all the necessary things for us to receive the Master Builders Award. We were only short one item for us to receive the Master Architects Award, INCREASE IN MEMBERSHIP.

There is no magic wand to make new members appear. It is up to us to make it happen. The "Friend to Friend" Program gives us the tools to work with. We will be having a "Friend to Friend" meeting on March 29th. This gives us almost two months to decide who to bring that we feel would be an asset to the Fraternity and enjoy the Brotherhood.

I invite each of you to come to the meeting hopefully with a prospective candidate for an evening of fellowship.

Fraternally,

Don S. Methven, PM, Junior Warden

FRIEND TO FRIEND NIGHT

As you may know, we hold our "Friend to Friend" Night on the fifth Tuesday every quarter and March will be no exception. W. Bro. Pat Hayes will honor us with his presentation starting at 7:00 pm on March 29th. Refreshments will be served.

SWEETHEARTS DINNER

The Lodge will host a dinner for the wives of passed Brothers of the Lodge. We extend this invitation to all members and their wives as we are wishing to promote a positive bond in family values. Dinner will begin at 7:00 pm on February 22nd.

I have changed the way you will receive the Trestleboard. You will now receive an email with a link to a web site that contains the Trestleboard. This should help speed things up.
